The glowing lights cast long shadows on the forms huddled around greasy tables. Every gulp of strong liquor is a slurp at forgetting, a fleeting escape from the truth that shadows them outside these dark walls. They come here to numb the ache, seeking escape in the crowd of strangers who get it. But the liquor can only mask the despair for so long.
